it was barely past midnight when you and sarah had arrived to you and jjs shared apartment in la since the two of you were staying to record more music and for your hellraiser premiere in a few days. plopping onto the couch with tired sighs, the two of you received a raised eyebrow from jj, who stood at the kitchen counter, sweats hung low on his torso as he prepared himself a midnight snack. "tired?" the man teased with a small laugh.

you gave him a pointed glare, standing from your spot on the couch and walking over to the fridge next to him, grabbing two water bottles and handing one to sarah who had walked over, stood on the other side of the counter. "so you two.." she trailed off, moving her fingers in between the two of you ass jj snatched your water bottle from your hands, taking a sip before handing it back to you. jj raised an eyebrow, "friends," he clarified. sarah nodded, not entirely convinced, "right, right."

"so you two never.. like, nothin'?" jj gave her a pointed look, laughing quietly at the glare you gave her, "you ask too many questions. but, we did, some point in high school. but it didnt work out so were just friends," jj turned away to put the butter knife he was holding in the sink, completely missing the raised eyebrows sarah gave you, to which you rolled your eyes.

he turned back and grabbed his plate of everything bagels, which were lightly smothered with cream cheese. "early day in the studio tomorrow, for the love of everything, get some sleep." he spoke outloud, but directed his words to you. he walked behind you, ruffling your hair and placing a kiss on the top of your head. "night!" you called as he shut his bedroom door. after a couple quiet moments, sarah spoke up, "dated, huh?" she tilted her head towards jjs door, taking a sip of her water.

"whatever," you laughed with a roll of your eyes, "we did. he was a good boyfriend, but there was more of like a sibling bond between us. he has two brothers and i only had an older brother so," you shrugged, taking your water bottle back over to the couch. sarah followed after you with a soft smile, "makes sense." the two of you continued talking for what seemed like forever.

once you realized it was almost one in the morning, you and sarah both decided it was a good time to wrap up the night, saying your goodbyes. "text me when youre home safe," you said as you stood by the door. "love you!" the both of you repeated back to each other.

you shut the door with a small smile, stretching your body. you reached down to grab a room temperature water bottle from its pack, jerking up when jjs bedroom door opened. "still awake?" he asked as he moved around you to place his late in the sink. "so are you," you pointed out to which he rolled his eyes, "well, yeah but i wake up on time." jj retorted.

you rolled your eyes, "yeah, yeah. im gonna go sleep, for real this time. goodnight," you saluted him. he reciprocated the action, flipping you off after a few seconds holding holding the position. "i was trying to be nice," you rolled your eyes as he laughed, placing another kiss on your forehead.

"goodnight," he let out with a chuckle, "for real this time." you nodded, offering him a soft smile as she walked to her room on the other side of the apartment. "goodnight. wake me up if i dont wake up on time please," you turned at the threshold of your door with a small smile. jj laughed, "i will, just go to bed," he turned away to walk to his bedroom, shutting the door behind him as you did the same.

[Inserts Y/N with cheers] “Welcome to the show! Uh you look fantastic, thank you so much for being here”

“Thank you for inviting me, Jimmy! And for the food!”

“No problem! Figured it was the least I could do after the flight here, um…so y/n your career has always been eventful but it's currently exploding right now and everyone’s talking about Y/N L/N and so I wanted to show you this photo and tell me if you remember how growing up in figure skating was” [shows a picture of younger y/n in her first competition]

“Oh….this was when I was 12, I had just started competing after begging my mother to sign me up for a skating academy for like a whole year [laughter]”

“Did you win this competition?”

“No [laughs] I got like fourth place and was convinced I wasn’t made out to be a skater and went home that night and cried the most i’ve ever cried I think”

“Wow, here’s you like what..six competitions later and look you’ve got a gold medal” {shows a different picture of her on the podium with a bright smile] [insert cheers and laughter] “I’m so happy for you, what did it feel like?”

“Um, well it felt like I was right all along, that my mom and coach were right and it just gave me a huge boost in confidence after that”

“And- I mean- look at you now two time olympic champion back to back, that is amazing- absolutely amazing. Uh- a little birdie told me that when you first signed with Team USA- um you were in a Chick-Fil-A drive thru when you got the call”

[laughter] “Um..yeah! I was actually at work- um, i worked in a chick-fil-a like ten minutes down the street from my house and I got the call from the recruiter and I was like “oh god, I can’t be on my phone at work but I have to take this…screw it” and i picked up the phone and if you ever watched the draft for the nba then it’s kind of like that, I remember I squealed and dropped to the floor as I accepted and I just could not shut up about it for the rest of the day”

[laughter] “yeah well that must’ve been an amazing feeling! To know your accomplishments have been recognized and that you were about to go to the big leagues”

“Oh yeah, I was riding on that high for like a week, it felt like- yeah- i did it. I mean, I felt like I kind of made it already when I won the rest of my competitions growing up but that call was the little cherry on top, you know? I was 18 years old at the time of the phone call, just out of high school but then it was like a massive dump where I was unsure of myself and if I really was that good. Hate really got to my heart during that time, I had already reviewed a large amount of misogyny that I had almost given up too many times to count”

“I had to push myself and remember why I was there, first and foremost my passion for the ice, and I wasn’t going to toss away my dream due to bigoted men around me. They wanted to see me fail and I wasn’t going to let them succeed”

“Beautifully said. I know recently a few fans have reacted poorly after the results of the most recent grand prix in Austria..how do you feel about that?”

“Well um, I get that they're mad, you know? No one wants to see a driver forced out of a race following a collision but again, I had nothing to do with that, you know? [laughter] Um..just because I’m dating Max does not give them that excuse but again, there will always be haters and so I do what I do best and ignore them the best I can; I know not everyone can respond maturely and things can be said in the heat of the moment so I try not to hold it against them”

“Right, well what are your plans for the future? Is another championship in the cards? Another career even? Maybe a more serious relationship outcome with Max?”

[laughter] “Um well figure skating is definitely the dream, you know, a lot of people will say I’m too old to be on the rink but frankly, there is no maximum age to figure skating, i’ll retire of course when I’m ready but um, that’s no time soon [laughter] um growing up I was really into psychology. Obviously as an athlete I know the importance of mental health and how it can truly affect your performance and career but I was obsessed growing up, probably from all the late night reruns of crime shows like law and order and 48 hours {laughter}’

“and um I don’t know about the last one, we haven’t really talked about anything like that, I think we both enjoy our lives together but i wouldn’t be opposed to any sort of change”

“Great! Well um, Max if your watching, there’s your sign right there [laughter] um…I googled you today to see what pops up and um..”

“Did you not know who I was beforehand?”

“No [laughter] no- i can do..I know all your poses and I can do it”

“Oh can you?”

“I can do it, no- no I just wanted to see what pops up and it says did you mean: ice queen or ice princess and I think that’s kind of fun, tell us about that”

“Um, I definitely didn’t do that- I guess someone at google loves me or something [laughter] but the nicknames ice queen or princess is from the 2018 Olympics when I won my first championship and that day I was wearing a white and silver costume that I was absolutely shivering in [laughter] but um- yeah, the judges and everyone liked it so much and I think the name came from one the judge's comments on my performance actually and everyone just ran with it and i liked it so much that I kept it [laughter]”

“Can I just tell everyone some of the stats you have right now, because wow. You are currently the highest paid figure skater at a net worth of 90 Million dollars. You are a 5 time US champion from 2011 to 2016 and 6 time World Champion from 2017 and 2023, you have countless endorsements with brands such as Disney, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Visa, Campbell’s Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Kraft, and United Airlines. You’ve been given the James E. Could not figure out how I wanted to do the interview and just decided to type it as if it was like a little youtube clip of the show so the brackets are like youtube captions. “Paige, get in here!” 

Paige ducks her head bashfully, but she goes to join the picture like Sue says. The photographer directs her to kneel at the front. Megan is next to her with Sue behind her and Diana and Stewie beside her with their wives. 

They pose for a few photos together, all the UConn women at the Wasserman party before everyone else floods in. 

Paige feels so much gratitude in that moment, to be so accepted in such an amazing group of women. 

She approaches the photographer after, asking to be sent the photos when they’re ready. 

The second they come in, she sends them through to Azzi. 

“Wish you were here. Miss you so much. 💗”

Paige is having a nice night when the text comes in. 

She’d come to Phoenix alone, but luckily the UConn family was expansive and the WNBA community so welcoming. She hadn’t needed to worry about not having company for a single moment. But that didn’t mean she didn’t still wish Azzi was here with her. It didn’t help that most of her friends had their partners with them.

So when Azzi texts that her flight into Phoenix had been canceled, Paige is hit with such a wave of sadness that Liv stops what she’s doing to ask her if she’s okay. 

“Azzi can’t make it.” 

And she knows it’s a little ridiculous because she just saw her, and she’ll be seeing her again in a few days, but at the moment, she misses Azzi desperately.

“Oh babe, you look so sad I thought something really horrible happened.” Liv laughs a little bit and gives her a side hug.

Paige pouts, leaning into the hug. She usually isn’t this publicly vulnerable, but she’s always felt safe around Liv who has been there for both her and Azzi.

“Bueckers!” Jewell Loyd approaches them, her girlfriend Téa at her side. 

Paige greets them both with hugs. She’d gotten to spend some time with them in Seattle when she visited Nika. 

“Where’s your girl?” Jewell questions playfully. “You talked her up so much the other week I’m excited to meet her.” 

“Her flight just got canceled.” Paige explains with a sigh. 

“Aw, well we’re gonna make sure you have a fun time tonight anyways.” 

And she does mostly, if only because she spends half of the night on her phone.

“Paige over here, smilin’ at her phone.” Flau’jae gives a sly look to her followers. She’s broadcasting the final minutes of the All Star game, and Paige had given a quick wave before registering Flau’jae’s quip. 

“Relax!” Paige crows, and both of them throw their heads back, cackling with laughter as they rock back and forth.

Within minutes, she knows the exchange will be all over the internet as people speculate about just who had Paige Bueckers cheesing at her phone. 

Sure enough, her phone begins to buzz with texts in the team group chat. A full on roast seems to be going on, with KK leading the charge, and she laughs at a few of the jokes, before a text comes in from outside the group.

“Hey Mike, you tryna head over to the bar?” Richie said over the phone hoping that his best friend would say yes. “Cousin, of course. It’s fuckin Friday night.” said Mikey said and with just that sentence alone he knew it would be a fun night.

“Hey Tiff! I’m gone for a few hours.” Richie said as he headed out the door with his car keys. “Ok! Love you.” “Don’t do anything fuckin’ stupid.” She said sternly at Richie while looking at him. He chuckled, “Of course not.” “Love you too. Call me if you need anything.” She nodded and with that he was gone.

Mikey left his house and grabbed the keys. He got there a little earlier than Richie since he lived a bit closer to the bar than him. He waited in his car until Richie showed up.

Richie’s car pulled up in right next to him in the parking lot. Mikey smiled and got out the car. “Hey what’s up man?” They dapped up as they walked towards each other. “Feels like it’s been fuckin’ ages.” Mikey said while sighing. “Mike, it’s been three weeks since I took off.”

“Oh shit yeah! How’s Tiff?” Mikey asked while his eyebrows pulled together. “Shes good man she’s good.” They both walked to up to the bar and conversed more about best friend shit.

They ordered a couple of drinks and were laughing their asses off. “HAHA! Fak almost failing the fuckin’ inspection is probably one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.” Richie said obviously the loudest one in the bar, and that bar was pretty loud.

Mikey and Richie weren’t too drunk but they were definitely feeling the kick of it.

You walked into the bar tired of work that day and a drink was all you wanted. The dress you wore was god awfully tight which you liked since you liked showing off your body that you worked so hard in the gym for.

You didn’t work out for the approval of men, you worked out for yourself because of it became almost a stress reliever but also was a way you could look into the mirror and be confident.

You had to admit that today you looked amazing in that dress.

As you walked closer to the bartender you asked for one tequila shot. The chair on the bar was just what you needed right now. Sitting down felt like a relief. You sighed and pulled your phone out of your purse.

You caught Mikey’s eye fast. As soon as you sat down he noticed you, not sitting too far away from him and Richie. “Cousin, look at her god damn.” Richie turned around and saw her. “Damn, she’s beautiful.” “Tiff wouldn’t even be mad at me sayin that, hell, she would fuckin agree!” He said laughing.

Mikey chuckled at him. He kept staring at you while you were taking your shots and scrolling on your phone. Richie noticed him looking at you and said, “Mike, go over there and just talk to her.” If she catches you staring at her she’s gonna think you’re a fuckin’ creep.”

“You’re fuckin’ right man.” Mikey said conflicted on what he should do.

You got up and asked the bartender where the restroom was. Since this was the first time you had been to this bar, you didn’t know the way around it at all. He told you where it was and you walked over there quickly. When you were walking, Mikey saw your ass move in the dress. “Oh my god, she’s fuckin’ perfect!” Mikey said with that image permanently implemented into his mind.

Richie laughed and said, “Starin at ass all night ain’t gonna get ya too far.” He said. Mikey laughed, “Yeah, yeah I know but I haven’t been in the game for a while.” “What if I fuck it up?” He said and looked at Richie, his brown hair falling into his face a little.

Richie looked at Mikey and said, “Cousin, you won’t fuck it up, you’re Michael fuckin’ Berzatto you always find your way man.” He patted Mikey’s shoulder. Mikey chuckled, “Yeah yeah I guess you’re right.”

“I know I am” said Richie confidently. Richie started laughing, “what?” Mikey said smiling. “I don’t know it’s just crazy to me after all these years of being best friends, you would be the one asking me for advice about this type of shit” Richie smiled. “Shut the fuck up dude” Mikey said while laughing.

You came out the restroom and turned around the corner. Richie saw you and said, “There she goes” fuckin’ opportunity of a lifetime right there.” He shrugged. “Your choice” Mikey rolled his eyes and finally got up. He walked over to where you were originally sitting.

You approached closer to your seat and saw this man with brown hair and brown eyes. He was extremely attractive and you were wondering why he was going closer to where you were.

You sat down at your seat and turned your head to look at the man. “Can I help you sir?” You said politely, while doing a half smile. He looked into your eyes. “Can I buy you a drink?” He said smoothly but on the inside he was nervous. You intimidated him so badly. You were the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid his eyes upon so of course you would make him nervous.

“Depends on what you get me.” You said in a voice that you didn’t use often until you saw attractive men. He leaned in, not too uncomfortably close but was still being smooth with it, “whatever you want” you smiled.

“I like you. You’re fuckin’ awesome.” You said. You weren’t drunk but you still felt a little tipsy. He laughed, “Appreciate the words of affirmation.” He said and smiled at you. Richie saw you guys from his seat and smiled. “I’m so glad I talked him into this shit.” He thought to himself.

“Two shots of tequila please.” You said to the bar tender. “Coming right up ma’am.” He said. “So what is a beautiful woman like you doing here in a shitty bar?” Mikey said. You shrugged, “I had a long day and this was my closest way to let go of all that shit for today and relax.”

“No shit, we have the exact same reason.” He said. You laughed, “A lot of people come here to do that so I dont think we’re special for that.” “Here you go ma’am” the bar tender said while sliding your drinks to you.

“Thank you.”

“Cheers” you said while raising ur glass up before swallowing it all down. “Cheers” Mikey said while staring into your eyes. He put the cup on the bar. “Shit! That’s strong.” Mikey said while closing his eyes tight.

“What? Mr big strong guy can’t handle a shot of tequila?” You said laughing and touching his arm that was very built. He chuckled and looked at his arm after you touched it. “Oh my god” you said embarrassed I’m so sorry I usually am not this bold I swear like I’m a quiet type of pers-“ he cut you off, “it’s ok sweetheart I don’t mind.”

“Sweetheart” my god you could’ve melted into your chair right there. Sure guys would try and get at you but none like this. He was funny, chill, handsome, and easy to talk to.

He smiled at you and you smiled back. “So does this tequila shot master have a name?” He said while looking at you. “Oh shit! Yeah I forgot to introduce myself, usually I’m much better at this, I’m just drunk as shit” you laughed at yourself. “I’m y/n” “what’s yours?” “Michael but everyone calls me Mikey.”

“Mikey is a good name. You said trying to keep conversation since you wanted to talk to him more. “Thank you sweetheart.” He said while putting his hand on his chest.

“Hey uh you wanna come over to my seat, my cousin Richie is over there and I forgot he was over there.” “I love talkin’ to ya doll but I don’t wanna leave him there by himself.” You completely understood and having nothing else to do you said, “sure! I’ll follow you Mikey.”

You saying his name was all he wanted to hear. He walked back to where Richie was sitting. Richie looked up and saw Mikey followed by you. “Let’s go Mike! He better thank me for this later.” Richie thought as you guys got closer to the stools.

“Y/n, this is my best friend Richie, Richie nodded and stuck out his hand for you to shake it. “Nice to meet ya sweetheart.” You smiled at him, “Likewise” you said. I thought you said he was your cousin?” Mikey looked at him, and said, “Nah, we’re not blood related but I’ve known him for so fuckin’ long we basically are cousins.”

Richie laughed, drunker than he was before, “I can’t believe Mikey has finally managed to find someone that is actually nice.”

Mikey looked at him embarrassed that he even said that. “Thanks Richie!” “For that comment!” You chuckled, not really knowing what to say. You sat down and just felt like you belonged with those two.

You vented about your job and they did too and just talked about life and where you were from. All night long everybody was laughing and having a good time. Then Richie checked his phone for the time, “Fuck! Tiff! She’s gonna be so mad when she realized I stayed later than I told her.”

Mikey looked genuinely concerned for him. “Well man go ahead, I’ll see ya soon cousin.” He stood up and hugged him. “Nice to meet ya Y/n!” He said running off to his car. “You too Richie!” Mikey yelled, “Drive safe fuckin’ idiot!”

Richie laughed and got into his car, “you know I will!” You couldn’t help but laugh at their conversation. You loved their relationship and wished you had a best friend like that.

You and Mikey walked out of the bar and sat on a bench just outside of it next to a tree. When you sat down you let out this big sigh, “I need to get out of the dress.” You said kind of getting annoyed by it at this point in the night. He looked at you, “You look amazing in it.” He said while looking at you with his brown eyes that felt special and important.

You didn’t know how to explain it. Like he admired you.

“Thank you.” You said smiling. You pulled out a blunt and your lighter from your purse. He looked over, “You smoke?” You nodded, “The best stress reliever to exist because you just fuckin’ forget everything.” He nodded “I think need that shit right now too.”

“Oh yeah?” You said lighting up the joint. You put it to your lips, inhaled, and blew out. You handed it to him. “What could you be anxious about? You got a girl waitin’ at your house too?” He inhaled it and blew out. “Fuck no” “I’m not good with relationships.”

“She gotta be real special for me to actually try and not fuck it up. Other than that, it just adds more drama in my life.” You nodded and internally was disappointed that you may not get to know him further.

You both sat in silence for a few minutes passing the blunt back and forth. Watching cars go way past their speed limit on the street.

It was never an uncomfortable silence, it was actually pretty calming.

“You know something, my whole life is just a fuckin’ mess” you turned your head slowly to him and continued listening. “I feel like everyone has these high expectations of what they want me to do with my life but in reality I don’t know what I’m fuckin’ doing.”

“Shit is scary dude.” You continued nodding and listening. You finally chimed in, “Yeah well, life is a fuckin bitch.” You ever heard someone say if you ever want god to laugh you should tell him your plans.” He shook his head. “Nah I never heard of that one but that shit makes sense.”

“Well whatever you do in life, I know you’ll figure it out and be great at it.” “Even though I just met you, it feels like we’ve been friends for a very long time.” He smiled, “I was thinkin the same thing sweetheart.”

You guys talked some more about life. “One question Mikey” “Shoot” he said. “Will you potentially maybe want to see me again?” “Like a date.” “You would get the real y/n and not this version who’s tired and out of it.”

“I would be a fool to say no darlin’” he said while getting closer to you. You had never felt safer being close to anybody in your life. “And by the way, this version of y/n is perfect.” He said reassuringly.

You smiled back at him and laid your head on his shoulder. He couldn’t believe he had a beautiful woman laying her head on his shoulder. He was definitely going to tell Richie about this tomorrow.

He was glad he saw you from across the bar because he got to have this moment.

That’s how you and Mikey Berzatto met and the rest became history.

“What is that?” Leo’s sudden voice made the two of you jump. He had come from down the hall, and was staring at you with an incredulous look and pointed finger. 

“Lunch,” Adam answered, pointing at the bag of food in your hand. Leo rolled his eyes, furiously trying to make where he was pointing more obvious.

“No, that!” 

You and Adam looked at the alpaca that Leo was pointing to, knowing you were unable to avoid it any longer.

“Oh my gosh, how did that get there?” You asked dumbly, as if you didn’t help Adam break it out of the zoo and bring it home.

“This is definitely the first time I’ve seen this,” Adam said in a faux shocked tone, petting the alpaca’s head. “But since it’s here, we can keep it, right?”

“What? Does she start liking Chase?” You ask jokingly. Bree raised her eyebrows at you and pursed her lips, signaling you were correct. “No!”

Pausing the TV, you set the computer on your lap and read the essay. You didn’t comment until you were finished, handing the laptop back to Chase.

“Pretty good.” You said, playing the movie again.

“I knew it.” Chase gloated, reclining on the couch next to you. “Perks of being the smartest guy ever.”

He’d tell you about someone he liked, you’d tell him that the two of them were meant to be, something would go wrong, you’d laugh about it, and then Leo would find someone new the next week.

“We’re so close to being boyfriend and girlfriend; I can feel it!” He said excitedly.

“Oh yeah.” You nodded, trying to suppress a laugh. “I know that if I had a boyfriend, I’d want him to be my human footstool because it’s what I deserve.”

“Exactly! You’re like the only one who gets it.”

“Ooh, there she is now.” You said, looking over his shoulder to see his girl of the week at her locker. “She came into the same hallway you’re in, so she clearly wants to see you. You should go talk to her.”

“Really?” Leo asked, slowly standing up. You nodded and pushed him in Danielle’s direction, waiting for everything to unfold. 

Leo somehow found the courage to talk to Danielle, but it was a pretty short conversation. When she walked away, she looked at him from over her shoulder and said goodbye.

“See you later, Lenny!”

The name made you bust out laughing, almost weak in the knees to stand up and go over to the now somewhat sad boy.

“Better luck next time, Lenny.” You said, patting his shoulder and laughing some more.

A/N: sweet Ace ( @ughgoaway ) being sick and lacking sick fics has made me realize that every time I see a mutual fall ill, they, too, post about there being a lack of sick fics in 75blr land. Matty dabbed a few drops of aftershave around his neck and freshly shaved face, singing to himself softly. ”baby?” He called out to Amelia, turning the bathroom lights out and shutting the door behind him. “Do you think the no facial hair look makes me look boyish? I mean I’m nearly 35 I think-“ he stared at her, frowning, as she rummaged through her makeup bag. “Excuse me, what exactly do you think you’re doing?” “doing my makeup?”

“you’re not meant to be doing your makeup. You’re meant to be in bed. Resting.” He rushed over to her, placing his hands on top of hers to stop them in place.

“Matty, im fine!”

“you hear that ‘d’ sound that your blocked nostrils added to the end of ‘fine’? Yeah, that’s not meant to be there.” He stated emphatically. “You’re not fine-d”

She rolled her eyes, prying her hands out of his. “I have a meeting. I’ve been working on the designs all week. Todays the day we show it to them.”

“You can email it to someone else and they’ll fill in for you, can’t you?”

“Matty, Please-“

he moved in tandem with her, blocking her path every time she attempted to take a step.

“Get out of my way; please.” She rubbed her red nose.

“I can’t do that I’m afraid.” He shrugged. “Get back to bed.”

her arms crossed over her chest defensively, “I don’t want to and you can’t make me.”

“‘course I can, Darlin.’” Matty grinned, charming as ever. “I’m being gentle right now just cuz you’re ill and all that. But if I have to be rough, I will. Not letting leave the bedroom.”

“Matty-“

“You’re running a fever, baby.”

she could hear the concern in his voice. His determined features softened as he looked into her glassy, tired eyes. “Please, Amelia. I hate seeing you in so much pain.” His hands squeezed her shoulders. “Please, baby? Take care of yourself. Do it for me.”

*** Matty set a tray down on the nightstand. “Got you some tea. Careful it’s piping hot.” He warned as she reached for the mug, “right, shall we get you into something more comfortable?” from the dressed, he pulled out her favorite graphic tee of his, and a pair of joggers, proceeding to dress her. “oh my- this tea tastes like shit.” Amelia groaned, nearly spitting out the beverage. “I can put on my own clothes, you know.”

“it’s…medicinal. No caffeine or any of the good stuff.”

She stared at him, mouth agape. “what?”

“nothing, i just- never pegged for the kind of guy who drinks medicinal shit tea.”

“I don’t. Bought it on my way home last night cuz I noticed you sniffling.”

“you-“ Amelia placed a hand on her heart. “Aww, you noticed me sniffling?”

Matty crawled into bed next to her, pulling her into his arms. “Drink your shit tea. It’ll help.” He kissed her forehead. *** “Can’t tell if you’re crying or just sniffling.” He glanced down at her. “b-both.”

Matty’s brows shot up. “You’re cryin’? I was joking! Amelia, are you alright ? What hurts baby tell me please??”

“N-no, no. Nothing hurts.” She giggled, wiping her own tears with the back of he hand. “It’s good. Good crying.”

“what the fuck?”

She laughed again. “Okay, this is embarrassing, but…I used to fantasize about this.” She blushed at her own words. “When, you know….Back when we were fucking. I wished that you were my boyfriend. And whenever I would get the flu or something, I- would daydream about you being there. To comfort me. To look after me. And now…. This is the first time that either one of us has been sick since you asked me to marry you...i love you. That’s all.”

Matty’s heart fluttered. With her head resting on his chest, she couldn’t see the huge smile on his face. “loser.” He said. She jabbed her elbow into his chest. “Fuck off.”

he kissed her head.

“I’ll deny all this tomorrow. It’s the fever talking. None of it is real.”

he chuckled. “Amelia?”

“yeah?”

“I love you, too.”

*** Amelia’s eyes fluttered open, startled by the cool sensation over her forehead. She stirred, a damp wash cloth surprising her by falling off her head.

“s-sorry. Should’ve wrung it out a bit more. Did I wake you?” Matty whispered softly. she shook her head. Still half asleep, scanning her surroundings, trying to piece together the details. “you hungry? I’ve made soup”

she sat up, readying herself to receive the bowl, Matty promptly fluffing up the pillows and stacking them behind her back. “Thanks, my love.” She smiled up at him.

He watched her take her first sip, excitedly, then quickly looked away. “oh my god. Matty!” She squealed. Turning around, he hid his satisfied smile. “that’s- that’s my grandmothers recipe, isn’t it!”

Matty could no longer play it cool. He turned right back around hopping onto the bed next to her. “Yes, yes it is. Do you like it? Is it accurate? Called your sisyer. She helped me out.”

Amelia set down her spoon. Knowing Matty lived and died by her praise, this was a moment worth remembering. “Matty- I- if we weren’t already engaged, I’d ask you to marry me right now.”

leading up to the race, i was so fucking scared & also so fucking excited to watch it, because as you might remember, this is when checo was almost leading the championship and bragging about it to the media 🙄🙄 very very funny looking back but i knew it from the moment baku ended: i need it to be next week. i need to see max slay again. 🤭🤭🤭 AND OH. OH SLAY HE DID. max cuntstappen is BACK yall 🤤🤤🤤

so, starting with quali (because i did not watch free practice), i remember this was the first time i watched with my now ex upstairs, in my brothers room 🥰 it was VERY VERY late in the netherlands at this point, like around 11 pm? it was very late for me and my sleep schedule at least 🥹 as i’m writing this it seems EARLY… woah… 😵‍💫😵‍💫 as you know: qualifying was fucking crazy. i was there, on his bed, praying man literally praying for everything to go right😬😬😬… THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE QUALIFYING TO MAKE ME VOW TO NEVER EVER MAKE FUN OF A MERC EXITING BEFORE Q3 EVER AGAIN. the fucking instant karma. i meant to post this last week but I’ve been SUUUPER busy and tired lately😪🤧

gosh. what an amazing concert it was! i’m so glad I finally got the chance to see itzy live. I’ve been wanting to see em for a loooong long time now. I got so teary eyed when they played the fan project video commemorating their 5 year anniversary. as someone who casually admired chaeryeong since sixteen and ryujin since mix nine, it makes me so proud to see how far they’ve come since then. goodness. time really flies. it feels like yesterday when they debuted….. im actually quite emotional thinking about it. god I feel so old…I can’t believe it’s been NINE YEARS since sixteen🥴🤢

there were also several lia clips that popped up during the 5th anniversary fan project video and the audience cheered every time a clip of her was shown. that made my heart real soft. I hope she’s doing okay and I certainly hope she is aware of all the love and unwavering support for her even in her absence. 🥹💗

chaeryeong got so shy when everyone wished her a happy birthday. and her reaction was soooo freaking adorable 🥺 I wanted to run up to the stage and give her a hug AAAA OMG!!! I love chaereyeongie so much and I’m so proud of how far she’s come since sixteen. 🤧 it feels like I not only watched her grow but also grew up with her???? like I’m not even chae biased but I hold such a soft spot for her in my heart cuz of sixteen. I had to hold back my tears cuz I was getting so emotional when they wished her a happy birthday……..

the concert was fucking amazing. the seat next to me was empty which meant extra room for me to dance 😊🫰🏼I literally had THEE time of my life. I went fucking MENTAL when they performed kidding me, sneakers, loco, untouchable, wannabe, not shy, escalator, dynamite, as well as ryujin and yeji’s solos. good fucking god. i went absolutely insane for both of their solos. they’re so hot. 🤧 what an immaculate setlist. I just wished mitm and ting x3 were on there too.

and lemme just say……… crown on my head inspires me. the lyrics actually do move me. I was feeling depressed the other day and when I started playing crown on my head, I shed a couple of tears and felt better. the cherry on top is that I was also wearing a tiara as part of my concert outfit 🤣 ahaha……

also….I gotta mention….. one thing about jyp concerts is that they NEVERRRR disappoint!!! 💅🏼 the members and their stage presence is one thing. but the live band takes the performances to another level! having seen skz and twice live, I can attest that i fucking adore attending jyp concerts because of how epic the live bands are. JYP CONCERTS ARE 100% WORTH THE MONEY!!!

and of course the part you’ve all been waiting for - cute butch gurlie!!!!! If ya know ya know…..(see my enha and txt concert posts). THIS IS OUR THIRD CONCERT TOGETHER!!!!!🥹💗at this rate…might as well call these concerts DATES…..and how fitting is it that it’s on pride month!?!?? slay. goodness fucking gracious she is soooo fine. as usual, I tried not to drool when I looked at her. her outfit was gorgeous and was inspired by yeji’s butterfly outfit in the swipe mv 🤤 mine was inspired by the checkmate concept photos because yall know how much of a pink loving princess I am. I even wore a tiara too 💅🏼 I wore a pink shimmery eyeshadow look to match the outfit and tightlined/smudged kohl to add that sexy desi twist to it 🥰 if the eyes are the window to the soul, then I sure as heck hope she saw the window to my pink n’ sparkly, yet dark and hypnotic soul…🤪🫰🏼 lmao.

we were gonna have food together but my dumb ass decided to take too long to get ready 🤦🏻‍♀️and I really didn’t want her to wait so long to eat. so I just told her to go get food at her own pace if she wants. I FUCKED UP THERE YALL!!! 😭 I PROMISE ILL GET UP EARLIER AND GET READY FASTER THE NEXT TIME SHE AND I MEET. but fear not….everything else went well. 😊👍🏼

I also had a poster that said ‘yeji addractive’ (in reference to this iconic moment) cuz y’know…..yeji herself is addractive. LOL anyways, I showed my poster to cbg and she giggled. she said it was so cute 🥹 she took pics of me and everything. 🥹 d’aawwwweee gosh im so soft for her.

the venue was SO nice! it was my first time there and her second time there cuz she saw the rose there before. it had such a cozy vibe to it. once were inside the venue, we were actually quite early!!!! we had coffee together and talked for an hour straight about various topics and I enjoyed every second of it. she asked me about my dhol hobby and how the parade went and I showed her pics 🥹 she loved them and said she wished she was there 🥹

I also showed her pictures of myself from the night before that parade where I was at a volunteer event for my dhol troupe’s org and I was wearing an all green outfit - bright green jumpsuit + trench coat and my green jhumkas. and she was WOWed. she said i look really good and green and she loved my jhumkas 🥺🥺🥺🥺 and to top it all off, of COURSE I showed her pictures of the volunteer award I received from my dhol troupe’s org as a flex 💅🏼 as expected, she was impressed 🥰

also…..WE SAT IN THE SAME SECTION!!!! I didn’t even know this until the day of the concert. 😳holy fucking shit. it’s as if we just VIBE on the same wavelength or smth…..😔🫰🏼we sat in diff rows but it still felt nice that we were at least in the same section ahaha.

and to end things off, we even uber’d back to our places together 🥺 wished we could spend more time 2gether that night iykwim👇🏼😔👇🏼🤭 HAHA JKJKJKJK…..unless????😬 and she said that she’ll go to sleep once I text her that I’m home safely 🥺 we love a caring, chivalrous queenie 🥺💕
